STUDIO JEWELRY
In New Mexico inspiration is everywhere, but sometimes it is easily overlooked. Organic forms and texture are occasionally gathered from the backyard. Our land is watered by open ditch, irrigated from the Rio Grande. The water brings us many forms of regional vegetation. One day before the lawn was mowed we preserved a little blue wild flower; it became a model for steel dies used to form jewelry elements. The wild flower became a series of beautiful earrings. We use this kind of inspiration to create unique jewelry with contemporary and traditional methods. Our pieces incorporate metal carving, casting, chasing, repoussé, and handmade steel dies. We use gold, silver, precious metal clay, and other media to create form.
